Mixed Lot of Russel Wright American Modern Dinnerware Russel Wright's American Modern was made between 1939 and 1959 and was the largest selling dinnerware ever produced by that time. The shapes were innovative and the glazes unique, American Modern combined form with function. This mixed color set includes 1 vegetable bowl, 10 cups, 9 saucers, 1 water pitcher, 1 casserole, 1 creamer, 1 covered sugar bowl, 9 dinner plates, 3 salt shakers, 1 gravy boat, and 4 bread plates. Colors represented are: Seafoam, Granite Grey Chartreuse, Coral and Bean Brown (one cup). Condition is good with a few normal pottery pops and normal glaze skips and color variances for Russel Wright. There is crazing on most pieces and some vintage use marks as well as the following issues of note: one gray cup has a minor chip on the dry foot, the gray creamer has a larger than normal indentation under glaze near the end of the spout and has a rough edge as well, the chartreuse water pitcher has a brown age line on the lip of the spout (1/4"), the seafoam sugar bowl has a fleabite on the rim of the lid (to the left of the dark spot in the close-up photo), the chartreuse salt shaker is rough on the bottom with no cork, and the coral salt has a cork but it is up inside the shaker. Russel Wright American Modern Salad Spoon This is the Woodfield line salad spoon, an addition to the Russel Wright American Modern set (reference p. 131Collector's Encyclopedia of Russel Wright, 3rd ed.). It is in the Granite Gray color and measures 10 3/4" long.
Condition is excellent with no cracks or chips. There is overall crazing and an extra fleck of dark gray on the tip of the spoon under glaze (see pic). This spoon has a hole in the end in order to hang it on a hook. Unmarked and a hard to find addition to your RW collection!

Russel Wright American Modern Salad Fork This is the Woodfield line salad fork, an addition to the Russel Wright American Modern set (reference p. 131Collector's Encyclopedia of Russel Wright, 3rd ed.). It is in the Coral color and measures 10 3/8" long. Condition is very good with no cracks. There is a pinhead size flake on the tip of one prong. This fork has a hole in the end in order to hang it on a hook. Unmarked and a hard to find addition to your RW collection!

Russel Wright American Modern Coral Platter A nice Russel Wright American Modern platter in coral. Measures 13 3/8" X 8 3/4" in excellent condition! I have two if you need a matching pair!

Russel Wright American Modern Pitcher with Lid This is a wonderful piece of work by the Modfather, Russel Wright - a prime example of form and function - and best of all, it still has the rare lid!!
Without the lid the pitcher measures 7 1/2" tall, 5 3/4" wide and 7 1/2" from belly to handle. It is Chartreuse in color and is marked with the Russel Wright Steubenville mark on the bottom. Condition is excellent with no cracks or chips. There are a few small, light scratches and the inside rim has darkened on the lid (see photo). There are a few pinprick glaze misses, one of which is on the inner hook of the lid and slightly along the rim of the pitcher. A nice piece of collectible Wright and hard to find with the lid still intact!
