7-1368

Pair of Goebel Angels with White Glaze This adorable pair of Goebel angels appear to be in deep conversation or humming a Heavenly tune. They stand 4 3/8" tall (one slightly taller than the other) and are marked "HE 51B" and "HE 51A" along with the date "1971". One has trademark #4 and one has trademark #5 stamped in blue ink. The detailing is beautiful and finished with a nice matte white glaze. Condition of both is excellent with no cracks, chips or issues. They look like they have been kept safely in a china cabinet...

7-1005

Bareuther Demitasse Coffee Set - Tea Set This fabulous coffee/tea service is marked "Bareuther Waldsassen Bavaria" - the mark dates in the 1960's according to Kovels book of marks. The edges are a dark teal (or aqua blue) fading to a shade lighter, all on a white base. Painted atop the teal on each piece is a detailed gold scroll pattern. Both lids are decorated with the gold scrolling on white. There are 4 saucers, 4 cups, 1 creamer, 1 sugar with indented lid, and 1 coffee pot with lid to complete a 13 piece set. All in excellent condition with minimal signs of age on the paint and only one sliver on the underside rim of the sugar bowl lid that I cannot tell if it occurred before or after manufacture. Measurements are: saucer = 4 3/8" diameter, cup = 2 1/4" tall and 2 3/8" across the top, coffee pot = 8 1/4" tall with lid and 6 3/8" from spout to handle, creamer = 3 3/8" tall and 3" from spout to handle, sugar = 3 7/8" tall with lid and 3 1/4" in diameter. This is a wonderful set in an unusual color!

The rims are all circled with a glossy brown and the handles are trimmed in gold. It measures 4 3/8" tall with underplate and lid included. The syrup measures 5" from spout to handle and the underplate measures 5 1/2" in diameter. Condition is excellent with no cracks or chips. There is a tiny indentation on the inside rim of the pitcher that is underglaze. Loss of paint is very minimal and there are a few minor scratches on the underplate from the pitcher.

8-1013

Vintage Dave Grossman Designs Sculpture - signed 1978 This adorable little fella was made in 1978 by Dave Grossman Designs. He appears to be made of sculpted clay but since he has held up so well for the past 30 years through multiple moves, the actual material may be something sturdier. He is a "one owner" lion and has been a fun doorstop for me since '78 but it is time for him to roar into a new home.

He measures 8 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" wide and 8" deep. He is signed on his backside by Dave Grossman and also has an ink stamp mark on the bottom. He weighs over 5 pounds, thus his job as a doorstop. The sculpted details are terrific! Condition is excellent with only some minor scuffs - the vintage dust that reared its ugly head during the photo op is FREE!

8-615

Green Pottery Ball Pitcher with Ice Lip This is a nicely aged ball pitcher in a medium green color. It measures 6 3/4" tall, 7 1/2" from spout to handle and 5 1/2" wide. There is no maker's mark.

Condition is very good with normal pottery blips and pinprick glaze misses. There is overall crazing, darkened with age - a nice touch for the primitive or country decor. The bottom is dark from use as well. There are a few tiny speckles of dried paint - left for character. No cracks or chips. The glaze is not overtly shiny - it is closer to a matt finish. Maker unknown.
Condition: Very Good

Lefton Green Heritage Tumble Up This lovely tumble up (pitcher with matching cup) was made by Lefton. The Green Heritage pattern is one of my favorites with pale green background, deep green leaves and roses in several shades of pink.

It measures 7 1/8" tall when altogether and 4" wide at the widest point. It would be quite lovely placed on the nightstand in the guestroom or in a bed and breakfast!

Condition is lovely with no cracks, chips or issues.

9-227

Nippon Wall Plaque with Blue Mark #52 This exquisite Nippon wall plaque measures just under 10" in diameter. It has the blue maple leaf mark #52 referenced in "Van Patten's ABC's of Collecting Nippon Porcelain".

The colors are extraordinary depicting a woodland scene with pale simple trees standing in the background with a burst of sunlight in the middle and woodland flowers popping forth, seemingly off the plate. There is gold trim and a gold beaded scroll along the rim, gold trim on the flowers and leaves and some beading on the flowers as well. The colors are pale green, darker green and pale/dark pink variations with a yellow glow in the center for the sunlight. There is a similar style plate shown on page 240 of Van Patten's book.

Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. There is a little loss of gold along the edge. This is an estate find so it has been hanging on a wall - the wire hanger is still attached.

The picture does not do this piece justice - you won't be disappointed.

9-417

WDC Gold Encrusted Doves, Roses & Daisies Vase This is an outstanding example of the Wheeling Decorating Company in business between 1900 and 1962 in WV. There is little written about this company, in part because they didn't make the porcelain or pottery - they decorated it. This porcelain vase is decorated in one of their most popular patterns - doves, roses and daisies. Encrusted in gold with the design etched around the bulbuous part of the vase. The interior and bottom of the vase is white. Condition is excellent with no loss of gold, no cracks or chips.

The vase stands 7 1/8" tall and 4 1/2" wide at the widest part.

8-52

Vintage Pottery Dog Dish - Pet Dish Feed Fido with class in this aqua dog bowl, most commonly called a Spaniel Bowl as the tapered top allows the ears to hang freely without getting in the food. It is marked on one side simply "DOG" and is similar in looks to the McCoy Dog (Period) bowl without the (period) but the bottom is unmarked.
It measures 4 1/2" tall, 4 7/8" across the top and 7 1/8" across the bottom. Condition is outstanding with no cracks or chips. The glaze is shiny with normal pottery pops, especially on the interior. The inside is lighter in color than the outside with some glaze dripping and there are a few tiny glaze misses here and there. Also to note are a few light gray lines on the interior that look like light scratches under the glaze. This bowl appears to be in unused condition with no water residue, etc.

They each measures 6 7/8" tall and 4 7/8" wide and have three dry feet on the bottom. The glaze is glossy and has overall crazing on both. They are very clean with no cracks or chips - one has a 1/16" flake on one dry foot edge. While unmarked, a friend has helped identify these as Royal Copley. Very nice for the wall pocket or the flamingo collector! Priced as a pair.
