California Pottery Vain Peacock
This bird lends truth to the phrase "Pretty as a Peacock"! She was made by West Coast Pottery of Burbank, CA during the 1940's. She boasts a lovely blended rose and aqua glossy glaze and appears to be admiring her stunning backside - thus the name of "Vain Peacock" line of pottery. If you or a friend collects peacocks - this one is a must have!
She measures 7 7/8" tall and 8 1/2" long. The bottom is marked appropriately "West Coast Pottery CA 474" in incised block letters. Condition is excellent with only one glaze miss and firing marks on the bottom.
