Vintage National Foundry Doorstop - Southern Belle
This sweet doorstop was made during the 1920's by National Foundry. She is cast iron, full figured and is titled "Little Southern Belle". As with most cast iron doorstops, she was hand painted and still retains most of her original paint. The paint appears to be enamel and still has some of its shine.
Her dress is a peachy pink color with pale yellow flowers on her bonnet and in her hand. Her shawl is pale blue and the detail colors are white and black. Condition is excellent- one of the best I've seen - with no cracks or chips. There are some small spots of missing color and some aging to the metal in places. No markings. She measures 6 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" deep.
Circa: 1920
Condition: Excellent
Manufacturer: National Foundry
