| This is a wonderful limoges smooth white compote decorated with a wide pink band along the rim of the interior and exterior as well as the pedestal foot. Each pink band is trimmed with one thin band of gold and another band of gold decorates the bottom of the foot. The Haviland & Company backstamp dates between 1879 and 1889. The compote stands 5" tall with a diameter of 9 3/4". Condition is excellent with no cracks or chips. There are a few pinprick dark spots within the porcelain (manufacture) and a few small darkened areas along the top rim. It shows minimal use and minimal loss of paint. This bowl would be an excellent match to most any pink flowered Haviland and would make a nice centerpiece! |
