| This fabulous coffee/tea service is marked "Bareuther Waldsassen Bavaria" - the mark dates in the 1960's according to Kovels book of marks. The edges are a dark teal (or aqua blue) fading to a shade lighter, all on a white base. Painted atop the teal on each piece is a detailed gold scroll pattern. Both lids are decorated with the gold scrolling on white. There are 4 saucers, 4 cups, 1 creamer, 1 sugar with indented lid, and 1 coffee pot with lid to complete a 13 piece set. All in excellent condition with minimal signs of age on the paint and only one sliver on the underside rim of the sugar bowl lid that I cannot tell if it occurred before or after manufacture. Measurements are: saucer = 4 3/8" diameter, cup = 2 1/4" tall and 2 3/8" across the top, coffee pot = 8 1/4" tall with lid and 6 3/8" from spout to handle, creamer = 3 3/8" tall and 3" from spout to handle, sugar = 3 7/8" tall with lid and 3 1/4" in diameter. This is a wonderful set in an unusual color! |
