This Shamrock Pig cookie jar has a lot to smile about - the Shawnee Pottery Smiley cookie jars are among the favorites of collectors! This Smiley stands 11 1/4" tall and is marked appropriately "USA" on the bottom. He is wearing a green kerchief around his neck and is decorated with green clover leaves and brown highlights. His facial features are brown and pink.
Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or visible crazing. He is clean inside and out with only a few typical pottery flaws such as a pinprick glaze miss or bump.

There are also a few tiny spots of cream colored paint here and there that didn't come off when washed - looks like he might have been left uncovered during a kitchen makeover. Normal slight roughness felt on the rim due to the lid going off and on over years but no visible chips.
All in all he's some pig!!
